Yoga For Strength & Balance on Zoom

Every WEDNESDay 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 A.M.

Improve posture: By proper alignment of the body everyday activities become easier; breathing becomes easier.  Good posture increases a sense of well-being and contentment and helps to counteract feelings of depression. 

•       Increase strength:  The development of muscular strength increases body capability and confidence which allows the individual to participate in activities which might not otherwise have been possible.  Increased strength also increases a sense of well-being.

•       Increase mobility:  By creating greater flexibility in the arms/shoulders and legs/hips, we also create greater mobility in the spine.  When the spine is able to more fully extend the spine is less prone to stress fractures.  Many people associate greater mobility with a feeling of youthfulness. 

•       Increase balance and coordination:  The repeated and regular practice of balancing exercises increases stability in everyday activities (e.g. walking on uneven surfaces).  This is a key element of fall protection.

•       Increase sense of well-being:  The combination of good posture, strength, mobility, balance and coordination positively affect not only the physical body but also the mental and emotional body.  This practice is designed to make you feel better.

Social support:  By joining with others in positive and proactive healthful activities you may feel less alone with your diagnosis and may feel more in control of assuring
